1986 Coquihalla T-shirt

Regular price $23.00

Celebrate the opening of B.C.'s Coquihalla Highway that took place on May 16, 1986, with this t-shirt.

Connecting the interior and the coast with a faster route than the Fraser Canyon, more than 10,000 people worked on the project to ensure it would open in time for EXPO 86

The design was taken directly from a well-preserved vintage bumper sticker which you can still spot on old clunkers around our province. It was handed out to everyone who paid the $10 toll to take the route during its first year (the toll stayed in place until 2008). We decided to preserve it as opposed to cleaning it up and making the graphic look brand new - that explains the vintage look and very slight appearance of weathering.
